Record IFAT Munich: World’s leading trade fair for environmental technologies reflects global growth in the industry

IFAT Munich 2024, which took place at the Munich Exhibition Centre from 13 to 17 May, ended with a record attendance: Around 142,000 visitors from almost 170 countries and regions came to the world’s leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management. This corresponds to the record level of 2018, with the proportion of international visitors at over 50 per cent, which is higher than ever before. The internationality of exhibitors also reached a new record: 55 per cent of the 3,211 exhibitors came from abroad. Companies from a total of 61 countries and regions took part. With 300,000 square metres of exhibition space, this year’s IFAT Munich was also the largest ever.

Grüning & Loske once again presented its extensive product and service portfolio at the joint VAK e.V. stand. Located not far from the truck show, numerous customers and interested parties found their way to our stand, attracted by the neon green hats, which were already sold out on the third day. For Managing Director Dirk Loske, the focus was on maintaining contacts and expanding his personal network. Many interesting and follow-up discussions rounded off his impression of a successful trade fair. So one thing is certain for us: After IFAT is before IFAT – we’ll be back.

The next IFAT Munich will take place from 4 to 8 May 2026.
